The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at BBD College of Dental Sciences successfully organized an Oral Cancer Awareness Program on the 8th of February, 2025. The event was designed to educate and inform the non-teaching staff of the institution about the importance of early detection, prevention, and treatment of oral cancer and pre-cancerous lesions.
Objective of the Program
The primary goal of the event was to spread awareness about oral cancer, focusing on early signs, risk factors, and preventive measures. Given that oral cancer is a major public health concern, the session aimed to equip attendees with knowledge to recognize symptoms and seek timely medical intervention.
Event Proceedings
The program commenced at 2:00 PM with an inaugural address by Dr. Jitender Kumar Aurora, Head of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, BBDCODS. He emphasized the significance of oral cancer awareness and the role of healthcare professionals in its early detection and management.

Following the introduction, an expert lecture was delivered by Dr. Amartya, a specialist in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. The presentation covered key topics such as:

- Preventive measures and lifestyle modifications

Post the lecture, an oral screening technique was demonstrated for the non-teaching staff., ensuring that any suspicious lesions or abnormalities were identified and appropriately addressed.
