Brief Description of Events:
On accountof Oral Health Celebration,Department of Pediatric& Preventive Dentistry, BBDCODS, organized a range of activities.
On the 10th of April, 2024 Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, organized an article writing competition on the topic ‘Role of diet and nutrition in Pediatric dentistry’ for undergraduates and ‘Role of probiotics in Pediatric Dentistry’ for post graduates.
A logo-making competition was also organized on the topic “Oral Health Awareness” for all participants. A total of 30 studentsparticipated in the competition.
The program began with an introductionby Dr. Abhimanyu Singh,Senior Lecturer, who welcomed the judges for the article writing competition,Dr.Mona Sharma&Dr. Tanu Tewari, followed by the judges for the logo making competition,Dr.Saurabh Srivastava &Dr. Snehlata Verma. This was followed by valuable insights by Dr. Puneet Ahuja, the Principal.
All the candidates were given 45 minutes to write on their respective topics.Similarly, participants of the logo making competition were given 45 minutes to prepare logos. At end of 45 minutes, all the papers were collected and evaluated by the judges for the article writing competition.
The judges of the logo making competition visited the participant’s table and asked them to explain the significance of their logos. The winners were declared on 13th april 2024.
The winners of the article writing competition were Dr. Garima Singh, a first year post graduate student from the Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry in the postgraduate category. In the Undergraduate category, the first prize was awarded to Anurag Nanda, followed by the Second prize to Sohang Sharma and Anjali Prasad.The winners of the logo making competition were Jagriti Patel and Shalu Gupta.
In the afternoon session, a Nukkad Natak was organised by students of the Dramatics Society, BBDCODS,at Crown Mall, Faizabad Road. The activity was aimed at increasing awareness about oral health problems related to children. The nukkadnatak effectively engaged the crowd and successfully taught them the causes of oral health problems and the need to visit a pediatric dentist. The nukkadnatak ended to a roaring applause from the spectators.
RADIO INTERVIEW
On the 17th of April2024, Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, BBDCODS, organized a Radio Interview in association with BBD 90.8FMon the topic ‘Oral Health Awareness for Parents’.
The Radio interview was conducted at the office of 90.8 FM under the aegis of Radio Jockey Ishank with Dr. Abhimanyu Singh, Senior Lecturer from the Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry. A brief was provided to him for the program in accordance with which he asked questions to the interviewee.
