The programs were attended by 60 undergraduates, 22 Post graduates, 18 faculties & HODs of different departments of BBDCODS, BBDU, Students of various other colleges of BBDU University and general public.
REPORT:
On the occasion of National Orthodontist Day, 2024, under the guidance of Dr. Shantanu Khattri (Prof and Head), Department of Orthodontics BBDCODS (BBDU) had organized three days event from 7th – 9th Oct 2024.
The program included academic lectures, camps, radio talks as well as other activities to mark the occasion.
On Day 1:
E-poster, Photography, Creative soap carving and clay modeling competitions were organized where undergraduate students, interns and postgraduate students actively participated and made it a grand success.
Dr. Shantanu Khattri and Dr. Tripti Tikku also delivered a radio talk which went on air with channel of BBDU 90.8 FM, spreading awareness to masses about orthodontic treatment and against DIY aligners.
A short educational video highlighting the role of Orthodontic treatment for improvement of self-esteem was prepared by Dept. of Orthodontics to spread Orthodontics awareness. The program ended with Cake cutting celebration which was attended by Heads of all the departments and interns, postgraduates and faculties of Dept. of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, BBDU.
Also, pamphlets on Orthodontic awareness were distributed throughout the campus of BBDU and attached on notice boards of all the colleges in BBD University.
On Day 3:
An Orientation lecture was organized for BDS students from 1st year to Interns which was addressed by Dr. Shantanu Khattri and post graduate students regarding Orthodontic treatment and cases in the department. Event was concluded by distributing the certificates to all the winners as well as participants. And lastly group photographs were clicked.
