In the recently concluded 30th National Conference of IAOMP at Belagavi, Karnataka, Dr Puneet Ahuja, Principal of Babu Banarasi Das College of Dental Sciences, Lucknow, took over as the President of the national body of Indian Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathologists (IAOMP).
Dr. Ahuja has a diverse experience of over 32 years in academics and administration and has been associated with BBD University for 2 years. He leads the national association with over 2000 life members and 1000 student members. As the President, Dr Ahuja will focus on enhancing the scientific research activities of the specialty, facilitate student exchange programs and forge international and national collaborations with scientific organisations of similar interests.
Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology deals with all the diseases of the mouth, teeth and soft tissues like Oral Pre-Cancer, Oral Cancer, Tumours, Cysts Infections etc. The Association works towards raising awareness among the general population regarding all these diseases especially the effect of Tobacco and Oral Cancer.
