Brief Description of Event: In collaboration with IDA Uttar Pradesh branch; BBD College of Dental Sciences organized a series of Dental and Oral Health Awareness & Treatment Camps in the Maha Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj from 15th January-26th February 2025 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. 4-5 Interns of BBD College were posted on rotation along with IDA members on a
daily basis.
The dental camp constituted of diagnosis of oral pathologies, management and treatment planning of dental caries and cleaning of teeth. In the camp the patients were counselled to maintain good oral hygiene and proper brushing technique was also demonstrated to them.
Patients were counselled to cease deleterious habit such as tobacco, gutka and alcohol consumption. They were motivated to follow a healthy lifestyle to attain good quality of life.
In the camp there was provision to give first aid to the patients who had any kind of superficial trauma or lacerations. Patients were even provided with free toothpaste and mouthwash samples.

Free food distribution was also done along with dental camps on special days to the patients availing benefits of the camp.
Every day about 140-150 patients reported to the dental camp and availed the benefits free of cost.
This was an excellent opportunity for the Interns of the institute for enhanced clinical exposure and to take guidance from senior IDA members during the camp. They also participated in the religious fervour of the Maha Kumbh Mela and took divine blessings. The President and Secretary, IDA U.P. State and of IDA Prayagraj Branch appreciated the sincere participation and efforts of the Interns from BBD College of Dental Sciences. The Interns were presented with ‘‘Certificate of Appreciation’’ from IDA U.P. State.
