Anti-ragging orientation lecture was organised on 18h November 2024 by the Anti ragging committee of Babu Banarasi Das College of Dental Sciences.
Dr Sanjay Singh, (Member of DCI & Professor & Head, Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Jamia Milia Islamia University, New Delhi), was the chief guest. The function was inaugurated by the Principal, Dr Puneet Ahuja, followed by a welcome address by Dr Jiji George, Chairperson of Anti Ragging Committee.
Dr Sanjay Singh educated and sensitised the participants about the menace of ragging. He also stressed on the importance of making the campus ragging free. Ill effects of ragging on various spheres of life was discussed. Dr Singh emphasised that ragging should not be tolerated at any cost. Also, he informed the students about Anti ragging toll free helpline numbers and Anti-ragging mobile app. Students were encouraged to ask questions and their doubts were cleared by the speaker.
Students, few parents, police personnel, wardens, provost, security personnel, faculty members and members of the Anti ragging committee attended the lecture. A momento was presented to the speaker as a token of appreciation. The event concluded after the vote of thanks by Dr Kamna, Member Anti-ragging committee.
Conclusion: The Anti Ragging Orientation at BBDCODS Lucknow served as a proactive measure to foster a safe and respectful learning environment. Ongoing efforts and regular reviews will ensure sustained success of the ragging free campus initiative
