Anti-ragging week was celebrated from 12th August 2024 to 18th August 2024 as a part of which, Anti Ragging Orientation lecture, slogan and poster making competitions and nukkad natak were organised by the Anti ragging committee.
Slogan writing was organised on 12th August 2024, in which students took part
enthusiastically. The slogan ”Ab ki baar hogi ragging ki haar” won the 1st prize.
Nukkad natak/ street play depicting the ill effects of ragging was organised in front of the student mall in the BBD University campus on 13th August 2024, which was attended by enthusiastic onlookers. This helped to inculcate awareness of ragging as well as inform the student community about anti ragging cell and phone numbers to contact in case of any incident.
Anti Ragging Orientation lecture was conducted on the 14th August 2024 at LT 1 at BBDCODS, where students, few parents, security personnel, wardens and members of the Anti ragging committee were present. Dr Puneet Ahuja (Hon’ Principal & Professor, Department of Oral Pathology, BBDCODS), was the speaker. The welcome address was given by Dr Jiji George, Chairperson of Anti Ragging Committee.
The participants pledged not to undertake or be a part of any ragging incidents and to report if they see any.
Dr Ahuja educated and sensitised the participants about the menace of ragging. He also stressed on the importance of making the campus ragging free. Ill effects of ragging on various spheres of life was discussed. Students were encouraged to ask questions and their doubts were cleared by the speaker. Also, prizes were given to the students who won the poster & slogan competitions.
A poster competition and a reel making competition was held on 16/8/24. Winners were awarded prizes.
Conclusion:
The Anti Ragging Awareness week at BBDCODS Lucknow served as a proactive measure to foster a safe and respectful learning environment. Ongoing efforts and regular reviews will ensure sustained success of the ragging free campus initiative.
