Brief Description of Event:
Cons-Endo Week was celebrated from 05TH to 07TH MARCH 2024 in Babu Banarasi Das College of Dental Sciences, Lucknow under the aegis of “INDIAN ASSOCIATION OF CONSERVATIVE DENTISTRY AND ENDODONTICS(IACDE)”. The event was organized by the Deptt. of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics and was graced by the Finance Director (BBDU), Principal (BBDCODS), Head of departments of BBDCODS and other Dental Colleges of Lucknow, Faculty of BBDCODS and other dental colleges in Lucknow, Private Practioners, Interns, Postgraduates and Undergraduate students.
Day 1- CDE workshop on ‘FACIAL AESTHETICS’
Cons-Endo Weekcelebration began with a boom of academic as well as fun activities. On 1st Day i.e. 5th March 2024, a full day CDE Workshop was conducted at Dr. Akhilesh Das Auditorium, Babu Banarasi Das University, Lucknow. The program consisted of lecture and live demonstration on topic Facial Aesthetics by Dr Ali Atif, a renowned Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon who is currently serving as Chancellor for International Education Board for Aesthetic Medicine & Surgery, U.K. Live demonstration was performed on two patients using fillers and botulinum toxin followed by Lunch. There were 274 delegates registered for this CDE & live demonstration.
The CDE started with the inaugural speech by Dr. Palak Singh followed by the lightning of lamp by all dignitaries. The introductory speech was addressed by Dr. Akanksha Bhatt. Thereafter, welcome speech was delivered by Dr. Praveen Singh Samant, Head of Department followed by the felicitation of the dignitaries by the organising team members.
The lecture session also included the demonstration of procedures for injecting both fillers and botulinum toxin on a model. The procedure of marking of the landmarks were demonstrated on a volunteer from the delegates.
The Lecture session was concluded by proposing vote of thanks by Dr. Vishesh Gupta and addressing of the audience by Dr. Puneet Ahuja, Principal, BBDCODS followed by lunch.
Finally, the live demonstration of injecting fillers and botulinum toxin on two patients (Mr. Parshuram and Mr Rohit ) were performed. The participants were amazed on the instant pre-operative and post-operative comparison of the marked results.
Day1 CDE concluded with a group photograph of all delegated and organizing team with Eminent Guest Speaker.
Day 2- CDE workshop and Hands-on on ‘ROTARY ENDODONTICS’
On 2nd day i.e. 6th March 2024, a full day CDE followed by Hands-on workshop was conducted at Stepper Hall, BBDITM, BBD University, Lucknow by EminentGuest Speaker Dr. Saurav Srivastava, Endodontist & Senior Consultant to the reputed hospitals like Fortis, Max and B L Kapoor, Delhi. He is also a Key Opinion Leader for Orikam Healthcare Inida Pvt. Ltd.
The CDE started with the inaugural speech by Dr. Ananya Rawat followed by the speaker’s introduction by Dr. Tanu Tewari. Following which a welcome speech was given by Dr. Praveen Singh Samant, Head of Department.
Proceeding further, the lecture began; which was an amalgamation of the speakers experiences and clinical tips and tricks helping to ease the various procedures of rotary endodontics. The overwhelming response of the delegates made the event spectacularly exciting and informative.
The lecture was succeeded by the presentation of Memento to Dr. Saurav Srivastava by Dr. Praveen Singh Samant and Dr. Vishesh Gupta.
Post Lunch, the Hands-On workshop commenced at Conference Hall, BBDCODS. In this hands-on workshop, the clinical techniques for the root canal obturation were taught by the speaker and all the registered delegates were then trained to do it individually on the artificial root canal models which waspersonslly supervised by the guest speaker,Dr. Saurav Srivastava.
Day 2 CDE concluded with a group photograph of all delegated and organising team along with the Guest Speaker.
Day 3- Clinico Pathologic Conference followed by Nukkad Naatak
On 3rd day i.e. 7th March 2024, the day began with inter-department “Clinico Pathologic Conference” conducted by department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, on the topic “Clinical Case Reports in Endodontics” that involved the presentation of achievements and report of the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics followed by showcasing the best clinical cases treated.
The presentation ended with a movie (short video) created by Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics and prize distribution to the winners of the reel making competition held during Cons-Endo Week.
Nukkad Naatak was performed at two locations by the students of BBDCODS; first being performed in front of Khare’s Kitchen, BBDU campus and second at Crown Mall, Faizabad Road, Lucknow.
